Obverse: Design in violet with frame-like border. On the left, portrait of Simon Bolivar inside an oval from unknown author. On the right, inside an oval, portrait taken from the litography of Lemoine about the Marshal of Ayacucho, Antonio José de Sucre. In each corner the value in words "DIEZ" «ten». In the center, the denomination value "10", below the denomination in words "DIEZ BOLIVARES" «Ten Bolívares» and the payment clause "PAGADEROS AL PORTADOR EN LAS OFICINAS DEL BANCO" «Payments to the Bearier in the Offices of the Bank». On the top, the issuer name "BANCO CENTRAL DE VENEZUELA" «Central Bank of Venezuela».
Reverse: Design in violet with frame-like border. On the left, the denomination value "10". On the right, Coat of Arms. In each corner the value in words "DIEZ" «ten». On the bottom, the denomination in words "DIEZ BOLIVARES" «Ten Bolívares». On the top, the issuer name "BANCO CENTRAL DE VENEZUELA" «Central Bank of Venezuela».
Design variations in the reverse: From Design A, Type A, with a change of the lowest motto in the Coat of Arms from "EEUU DE VENEZUELA" to "REPUBLICA DE VENEZUELA" «Republic of Venezuela», due to the country name change by the new constitution.
Signatures: "Presidente" «President» and "Primer Vice presidente" «First Vicepresident»
