Characteristics from Design D, Type B
  • Identification Code: mv50bs-db
  • General: Circular shape with continous grained edge.
  • Obverse: Heptagonal rim with no beading. In the center, over the field, bust of Simon Bolivar facing left (from the viewer's perspective), with "BARRE" below (from the original engraver), surrounded by the legends "Bolívar" at left and "LIBERTADOR" at right.
  • Reverse: Circular rim with dentacles beading. In the center, over the field Coat of Arms with the motto "19 DE ABRIL 1810", "20 DE FEBRERO 1859", "INDEPENDENCIA", "FEDERACION" and "REPUBLICA DE VENEZUELA" «Republic of Venezuela». Surrounding the field, the legend "REPUBLICA DE VENEZUELA" «Republic of Venezuela». In the exergue the year and the face value "50" "BOLÍVARES".
  • Similarities of the reverse design: The design is similar toDesign D, Type A varying in the obverse, the position of the word "BARRE" and the addition of the mintmark of the Venezuela Mint.
