Characteristics

  • Identification Code: bbdv100bs-bb
  • Obverse: In the center, the denomination value "100" surrounded by the issuer name "BANCO DE VENEZUELA" - "SOCIEDAD ANÓNIMA". Below, the denomination in words "CIEN BOLÍVARES" «one hundred Bolívares» and the payment clause "que se pagarán al portador en Carácas á la presentacion" (payable to bearer in Caracas upon presentation). On each side, representación de una mujer. On the top, the legend of the capitalization amount "CAPITAL" - "B/15.000.000". In each corner the denomination value "100" within a guilloche. On the bottom, the signatures zone. In the bottom border, the denomination both value and words "100 / CIEN" repeated several times. On the right, the date filling space "___ 19__".
  • Reverse: Orange background pattern. In the center, inside a circle Coat of Arms with the motto "INDEPENDENCIA", "LIBERTAD", "5 DE JULIO 1811", "28 DE MARZO 1864" and "DIOS Y FEDERACION", on each side the denomination value "100". Above and below of the Coat of Arms the issuer name "BANCO DE VENEZUELA".
  • Production information: June 1907: 5000 pieces (serie 5, interval 15001 - 20000)
  • Design variations in the obverse: From Design B, Type A, changes the the date filling space.
  • Signatures: "Por el Banco de Venezuela" «p.p. Banco de Venezuela», "Por el Banco de Venezuela" «p.p. Banco de Venezuela» and "El Secretario" «The secretary»
